French term

jupe (goggles)

French to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Sports shop
Yet another item in the list (meh). CONTEXT:

"La jupe des lunettes est en PVC".

As far as I know, goggles don't have skirts... Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

seal

The seal that (should) ensure a tight fit with the face:

The use of high quality silicone seals means that less pressure is required to form a good leak proof seal and this also helps in fitting a wide range of facial shapes and sizes.

agree Catharine Cellier-Smart : 'seal' is the term Decathlon use, and they're my reference for most items of sport!

Since they are in PVC, I imagine those are hard shield to prevent penetration by debris, metal shavings, etc.

neutral Colin Rowe : In the context of the asker's previous questions, these are presumably swimming goggles.

skirt

It seems likely to me that "skirt" is indeed the term intended here. This terminology is used for diving masks and is now being used increasingly for goggles, especially for the hybrid goggles that are now becoming popular. Hopefully you have an image that may provide clarification.

Some links and examples:

Aqua Sphere's new range of swim products are revolutionizing the swimming world with innovation and great quality. Established in the mid 1990's when it introduced the worlds first swim mask, the SEAL, Aqua Sphere are now producing a great range of eyewear products plus a comprehensive range of swim products.
Aqua Sphere goggles use a unique seal, that's not only very soft and comfortable to wear but it won't ever leak either. The soft skirt sits comfortably on the skin and creates an air tight barrier that doesn't let the water in.

Seal XP™ Swimming goggles
The Seal XP swimming goggles from Aqua Sphere are a hybrid goggle that combines the superior visibility and exceptional comfort of the Seal Mask with the low profile and hydrodynamics of the Kaiman Goggles.
It has a flexible, one-piece frame and comfortable, watertight skirt that provides for hours of swimming and water sports enjoyment.

And in a scuba diving context:

Silicone Skirt
You have a choice of a clear skirt or a black skirt. Clear skirts increase your field of vision, are less claustrophobic and are generally preferred by new divers. Black skirts can help you focus on a particular task such as photography without distraction.
There are also different designs of skirt to consider:
Feathered skirt edges - On the higher quality masks the rubber skirt thins towards the edge, this makes the portion touching your face much more flexible for a comfortable fit.
Double skirt - Almost all masks have this nowdays, a second inner skirt that runs around the inside of the mask which provides a double seal making the mask less prone to leaking.
