Russian term
кулиса
Russian to English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering
It occurs in the list of defects to be remedied in an apartment block built in Moscow in 1934:
Доделка кулис сушилки и прачечной.
These were both in the basement of the building, and I do not know whether they were adjacent. I cannot figure out, from the various meanings of the word, what is meant here. Can anyone throw some light on this?
Many thanks in advance.

hanger
This refers to the airing cupboards.

Comment: "Thank you; as it refers to both laundry and drying room, this seems the most likely."

coulisse
Could it refer to a support structure for a drier or washing machine?
coulisse [kuːˈliːs]
n
1. (Miscellaneous Technologies / Building) Also called cullis a timber member grooved to take a sliding panel, such as a sluicegate, portcullis, or stage flat

It could also possibly refer to some sort of partitioning wall.
