Spanish term or phrase: Prisma envolvente
This is for an architecture programme. I’m totally lost here and will be posting a number of questions.
Hopefully there is a maths expert about.

English translation:circumscribed prism
Explanation:
In geometry we have the circumscribed polygon - in 2 dimensions - see definition below. The 3-dimensional case is less common & more difficult - even if you don't tackle the math, it requires at least a rudimentary ability to visualize in 3 dimensions. In 3-dimensional space, we would have the circumscribed polyhedron, which in one of the simpler cases is the circumscribed sphere. We could think for example of a cube, with a sphere drawn around it so that each of the cube's 6 vertexes just touches the surface of the sphere. For the case at hand, we could say the "circumscribed prism" - "prism" in this context meaning: "1: a polyhedron with two polygonal faces lying in parallel planes and with the other faces parallelograms." In non-rigorous language, a circumscribed prism is like a cardboard box inside which some other 3-dimensional geometric figure - say, a beach ball, or a smaller box of some shape - just barely fits.

I can't imagine it being anything else. Can you post a section that uses it?

Notes to answerer
Asker: I'm afraid it's a course description and only shows up once like this. Nothing in context. Might have something to do with architecture, like walls, etc., the materials used to envelope a structure, but this is specifically about descriptive geometry, and very technical.

In non-rigorous language, a circumscribed prism is like a cardboard box inside which some other 3-dimensional geometric figure - say, a beach ball, or a smaller box of some shape - just barely fits.

Example sentence(s):
  • A geometric figure that is drawn around another geometric figure so as to touch all its vertices is called Circumscribed.
  • In geometry, a circumscribed sphere of a polyhedron is a sphere that contains the polyhedron and touches each of the polyhedron's vertices.
