Further Evaluation of Proposed Assignment
It is our policy that HR evaluate proposed cross-border employment assignments that qualify under and are presented to HR following the determination of applicability described in Section 2.A.1) above.
HR’s evaluation must include either an independent analysis as to, and/or requests for additional information regarding, the nature of the assignment, including whether the proposed assignment involves:
services in connection with the construction of a manufacturing facility;
short-term international or commuter international assignments as defined under the HR-160 International Assignment Policy or HR-161 International Commuter Assignment Policy, as applicable; and/or
services that are ‘fiduciary’ in nature (i.e., services that are to be performed in an oversight capacity for the assigning country’s benefit that are redundant to services being performed by local country employees).
HR’s evaluation must involve notification to or consultation with the Cross-Border Assignment Steering Committee (Steering Committee) (see below), as applicable, depending on the results of the evaluation and the nature of the assignment as described above.
