"credits" are the names of performers, technical crew, etc, shown at the end of a film (at least in common English usage). The text deals with the rights of the Licence holder to modify the original - which would include "adding credits".

In my opinion, this is related to intellectual property acknowledgement, like specifying who wrote the text which is used, etc.
I saw this English term used in a legal text (agreement), so I guess it's adequate here. (I'm a native speaker of French, not English.)
