Italian term

GLSV sx

Italian to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
This term comes from the results of a transthoracic echocardiogram on a patient with heart disease.

Here's the context: "...severa disfunzione sistolica ventricolare sinistra FE VSx 14%, GLSV sx -6%, riempimento monofasico, ventricolo destro non dilatato..."

Later in the report it is written as GLSVSn.

Any thoughts on what this stands for?

Thank you!

GLSV - global longitudinal strain of both ventricles

sn/sx Ciao Leah. It seems to me that both of these stand for "sinistro" (ventricolo, probably). Let's see if somebody can figure out the rest of it, or suggest if it's a typo. I don't find anything with GLSV in a cardiology context online!

Ciao Joseph :-) (sto pensando alla tua domanda "PP" ma per ora non mi viene in mente niente)
agree Cristina Bufi Poecksteiner, M.A. : Aim - Left ventricular (LV) global longitudinal strain (GLS) reflects LV systolic function and correlates inversely with the extent of LV myocardial scar and fibrosis. http://eurheartj.oxfordjournals.org/content/early/2016/11/10...
