@Robert True, "ficha" is indeed a common synonym for "archivo" in Spain. My IT client uses ficha=file and "archivo" for larger repositories, used for long-term storage.

Closing question They are actually "web-based product files". Funnily enough, whereas "web files" gets lots of hits, "Online product files" gets only 1. Go figure. I'd hope to get more suggestions but the comments in phil's link to the previous question were helpful. Thanks to everyone for the input.
Robert Carter Oct 27, 2017:
@James ...Except that I don't think this means "ficha de producto". To my mind, the key here is "ficha web", which I believe is another (albeit fairly uncommon) way of saying "página web", in other words, this is a "web page" [of a product]. I think the "ficha" part here is in the sense of a "file" ("archivo"), which I have come across recently in certain texts from Spain, specifically in some marketing material I've been translating. Mostly, I just see "web" or "web de producto", "web de marca", etc., but I've also seen "ficha web" (in this sense). I think it might be a regionalism or interference from another language (perhaps from Galician or Catalan? I'm just guessing).

I think the inclusion of "data" is needed I usually use something along the lines of "data sheet" for "ficha". I think the term derives from the old index card (also a definition for ficha), like a rolodex card, which in our new IT context becomes anything that summarizes basic data or details.

In this particular case I think they may be referring to pages that bullet point the specific features, or one of those tables that compares the different versions with little checks or x's for features they have, etc. In other words, not just any old product page, but one specifically designed to display a list of details.

product [web] pages

I've been doing a lot of work on this subject recently, so here's my suggestion.

First impressions are everything.  Many store owners spend time tweaking their homepage, but often forget about the importance of a well designed product page.

I think "product page" is fine, but if you want to include "web" in the translation, even online marketers can't decide whether it's "web page or webpage":

How to Build Effective Product Web Pages for Your Online Store
An effective product webpage is a page that can sell the product without the customer having the need of any further information about the product or having to seek for more information elsewhere.
Not only should a product page be completely optimized for search engines, but it should also be optimized for the customer as well by being as complete and informative as possible.

In the context of e-marketing and e-commerce, I believe that by "ficha de producto" they mean a product page, not a product data sheet/product description as it would normally be.

We've had this before

It means product data sheet, or product details, or specifications, or anything along those lines. You could say "online" for "web".

We've had "ficha de producto" twice before. The meaning of "web" is obvious.
Note from asker:
If "we've had this before", how come it didn't come up when I ran a proz search for it before posting? "Fichas web" gets no hits either.
BTW, tx for posting that link - the solutions offered in that query will come in handy ;)

neutral Robert Carter : Neil's question comes in the context of "landing pages", I don't think any of those ideas work here.

They all work fine, and so does your suggestion.
agree Thomas Walker : Agree. "Online product data sheet" was going to be my suggested answer, before Phil brought up the previous one.
