Letter of Recommendation It is a Letter of Recommendation. Jefferson is writing it on behalf of another person. Both worked together: Yo Alameida hago constancia de trato y conocimiento de la profesora Adriana Flores, se desempeñó entre los años 2003 y 2013 como Docente y Jefe de Cátedra en esta institución.

I hereby state that I am on personal terms with [person]... /[person] is personally known to me

I interpret "trato y conocimiento" to mean that this person has direct knowledge of the other or is on personal terms with them.

As it's a letter of recommendation, you might want to tone down the formality slightly, removing the "I hereby state" part and leaving it as "I, [name], am on personal terms with..." or "I, [name], personally know..."
Peer comment(s):

agree David Hollywood : we finally got some context and good ideas Robert ... I would opt for "is personally known to me" in this context

Many thanks, David.
agree Andy Watkinson : 2 sound options.

Cheers, Andy :-)
agree Charles Davis : Yes, both of these are good. I've written a few references in my time and "is personally known to me" is a classic standby. If you're going formal, maybe "hereby certify" better than "state". "Well acquainted with" is another slightly formal alternative.
