What is the English version of the communità alloggio estensiva? I could translate the words and say "extended housing community" but I think I would be missing the meaning of this in Italian. (You often need to understand the culture and customs of another country before you can translate the meaning of something.)
(I assume that in this case, CAE does refer to this type of facility ... is there another possible meaning of CAE that could apply here?)

extra care housing
many of the references to 'Communità Alloggio Estensiva' seem to refer to patients with mental health problems which sounds like 'extra care housing' - a form of sheltered accommodation specifically for those with mental health problems - see the reference from 'Which'.

Thank you for pitching in and trying to help me. Looking at the links that Shera Lyn provided, it makes more sense to me that in this case the CAE mentioned in the report is this Centro Alte Energie, given the rest of the case history. The patient was getting treatment in Brescia ... I always go out of my way to leave out information that could in any way identify a particular patient, and in this case I left out some useful context. Shera Lyn, if you feel like it, please post this as an answer ... and thanks to the others for trying to make sense of this communita' alloggio estensiva false trail.
@ mag, these are not 'sheltered housing'. The sentence mentions a clinic, outpatients: contattare l\'ambulatorio del CAE. Sheltered housing does not normally have this facility, at least not in the UK, Cheers to everyone, Aida
