French term

dent du tireur

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Conveyor systems
Context:

This document is full of surprises, and I still do not know what the machine does.
Tooth puller does not seem a suitable response.
TIA Chris.

Discussion

Johannes Gleim Mar 17, 2020:
But fits the context "convoyeur et gabarit de manutention".
Kim Metzger Mar 17, 2020:
Doesn't look like a "pull switch lever." Whatever that is supposed to be.
Bashiqa (asker) Mar 16, 2020:
@ safetex No, Ethernet cannot be used, but the principle is fine. Some sort of "clip" or "tongue". Client not very responsive.
SafeTex Mar 16, 2020:
@ Bashiqa Hello
I actually agree with Johannes that the word "Ethernet" can't possibly be used even if it was me how asked for what this system is called and posted the link to an Ethernet connection. The right answer has to be some sort of locking device that needs to be pulled when extracting and also when making the connection (pushed or pulled perhaps). I wonder if "tongue" is the answer?
Bashiqa (asker) Mar 16, 2020:
@ safetex Ethernet type connection not a bad idea.
Unless client comes back with anything better (or anything at all) then clip might have to do.
SafeTex Mar 16, 2020:
@ Johannes Hello
I understand your shock. When I mentioned the picture, it was more about this type of system in general rather than for Ethernet connections in particular.
Indeed, all the suggestions are about levers, tugs etc. and they often have to be activated when you push in or pull out the connection.
That was my point but I was unclear, which is my bad. Sorry
Johannes Gleim Mar 16, 2020:
@ All The context says nothing about Ethernet cables. Hence no proof is given that the question relates to an RJ45 plug clip. Moreover, I never heard that an pneumatic hose may attached by means of such plug. This is ridiculous. And what about the pusher?
Kim Metzger Mar 15, 2020:
@ SafeTex It's called a clip or retention clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Gnp4JjwYA
SafeTex Mar 11, 2020:
@ all You know like when you plug in an Ethernet connection or even a cord that goes to a fixed phone, there is often a little "tongue" of sorts, sometimes one on each side, that you have to press in before you can connect your device
A very clear picture of what i'm trying to describe is at:

Could it be this?
Johannes Gleim Mar 11, 2020:
@ Bashiqa The 1st phrase should be read: « Déposer la boite appropriée dans le convoyeur (selon le plan du model) Avec le gabarit de manutention » acc. MHO.

The PDF contains accessories with teeth like the transfer (e.g. SCS-02 Cart Adaptors) to allow baskets to be transferred between cart and conveyor (p. 13/14). Are these parts identical to « dent du tireur »?
Bashiqa (asker) Mar 11, 2020:
@ Tony Could well be. Some of the trolleys are motorised and others not. The trolleys carry baskets into some sort of washer/disinfector so perhaps depending on size/scale of installation some have motors that pull others along at same time. Now discovered that company is SCS-FAU so will look up on site.
Tony M Mar 11, 2020:
@ Asker It wouldn't be that in any case: wrong order order!
However, 'puller tooth' might make more sense... sound like there is some kind of 'puller (maybe that moves your trolleys along?), and it has some kind of 'teeth' to hook them with?

disagree philgoddard : This is a kind of boat. And how can "tireur" be "pusher"?

(pull) switch lever

A pull switch is a switch that is actuated by means of a chain or string.
An electric pull switch is attached to a toggle type switch: one pull to switch on and next pull to switch off.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pull_switch

I understand a "pull switch lever" for emergency situations with the conveyor like this:

The Model SS-2 Pull Cord Switch is a conveyor safety accessory designed to interlock with the conveyor shut down systems in the event of maintenance or an emergency. When force is applied to the cable on either side of the switch the actuator arm rotates and locks in the alarm position. This activates two (2) micro switches and the manual lock out. Once the maintenance is done or the emergency is cleared the switch can be reset by pressing down and releasing the manual reset lever.

4. Thread the free-flowing end through the hole in the pull switch lever.
5. Tie a half-hitch or other appropriate knot in the free-flowing end to prevent the cord from slipping out of the hole in the pull switch lever.
