Daryo Sep 14, 2020:
@ Asker your previous question was about "danette" that you defined EXACTLY the same way

"Equipment that emits a sound"

Are these two different devices or you realised you mistyped your question and asked the right term?

One way or another, if you want a reliable answer, you need to give far more details about this "noise making gadget".
chris collister Sep 12, 2020:
As in "bip" (beep) ?? But not to be confused with a "pipette"....// This particular "bipette": http://help.wino.fr/fr/articles/3459132-ma-bipette-affiche-d... seems to be a barcode scanner.

neutral Daryo : why not? only problem, this guessing game is not going to help much being reasonably SURE of getting the right "nuance"

mini remote control / fob

Apart from Chris's suggestion, this is what I found.

Bipettes are mini remote controls with (typically) up to around 4 buttons on them.

From https://www.fmsource.com/topic/46747-questionnaires-style-pe... where someone wants a 'bipette' to answer multiple choice questions on an interactive test.

"C'est quoi ces "bipettes" ?" "C'est le petit nom d'une télécommande avec 4 ou 5 boutons "A", "B", "C", "D", "Valider" et qui fait "Bip" quand on appuie sur "Valider"."

Others use 'bipette' to describe their electronic keyfob or for their garage remote controls.

"sur ma petite [voiture] grise, on a un souci d'alarme, centralisée avec la bipette"

https://mbsquad.clicforum.com/t3053-alarme-centralis-e.htm

Thanks Tony
neutral Daryo : plausible, but given the "abundance" of details about this contraption, it could be just about ANY noise making gadget.

Buzzer

"Chime" could be fine. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. A clock chime is a melody or a set of melodies played at intervals upon a set of bells to mark the passage of time.

Example sentence:

Durable Piezo Electronic Buzzer Alarm

Piezo Electronic Tone Buzzer Alarm 95DB Continuous Sound

Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : There is another word already in FR for 'buzzer' ('ronfleur'), 'bip-ette' suggests more a 'beep' sound than a 'buzz'; 'chime' is a very special kind of more complex sound, scarcely comparable to any kind of simple 'beep'

Et "Chime"? Qu'en pensez-vous?
neutral Daryo : with so little context it's plausible, as much as other answers.
