Walkways & fixed gantries require regular testing and inspection as they fall under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (P.U.W.E.R) 1998. This must be carried out by a competent person and the findings of this inspection must be recorded.

Generally, walkways & fixed gantries are formed from steel or aluminium. Providing access to places of work they are used both internally and externally on roof tops, plant, silos and the like. Wherever they are located, it is vital to ensure the safety of workers who use them.
