Advice to staff on wearing respiratory protective equipment:

Straps? Lanyards? TIA

In the absence of any specific official term (though there may well be one), I think this is what I'd use.

agree  Bourth: Given the source text, it's hard to do any better. I've found nothing referring to upper and lower 'croix', just to 'fixation en X (en croix)' = 'X shaped (crosswise) head harness'.

agree  Alison MacG: I wonder if it might be a speech recognition or dictation error (croix / courroie)? / Just an idea, as asker in Canada https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/1421479O/wear-it-right-6... https://www.cchst.ca/oshanswers/prevention/ppe/wearing.html

-> Thanks, Alison! Not so sure: I don't thnk this kind of 'strap' would normally be a 'courroie', which suggest in some way driving or controlling something.

Reference: Head harness

Reference information:
See this picture of a head harness that seems to come close to the description in your source text: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/v000057493/ . Note how the harness has two pairs of straps fitted with snap-on attachments. What is not clear to me is whether the "croix" in quastion are the straps or the attachments.
