Players in evolutionary games can compete by employing different strategies to grab fitness payoffs; indeed, the most interesting games are games in which distinct strategies are deployed with equivalent skill. A strategy which collects, on average, more payoffs than its competitors is said to be fitter. The reward is reproduction—a new generation in which more players wield that strategy.
