Confusingly in English law, Respondent is on the other side to the Petitioner as well as on Appeal.
The second : a druga is the *Defender* in Scots law = turned Minuter as an Appellant or filer of a (procedural) motion (French: incident d'instance') .
Minute: a document which is part of the process by which a party defines his or her position on certain *procedural* matters e.g. by abandoning the action/ Terminology of Scots Law.
The person who raises the initial action remains as the Pursuer throughout the case. An extra description such as "minuter" or "respondent" is added to show what that person is actually doing in subsequent documents
