Letterlijk betekent dit uiteraard "herhaalbaarheid" maar wat wordt ermee bedoeld in de context van een plaatbelichter:

Ik vrees dat je dat moet omschrijven. Bedoeld is m.i. dat verscheidene drukfilms voor hetzelfde drukswerk de een na de ander precies op dezelfde plaats komen. Vroeger, voor er een registersysteem bestond, moesten die films "op zicht" of met een meetliniaal worden juist gelegd, wat geen precisie mogelijk maakte.

Natuurlijk speelt nauwkeurigheid wel een belangrijke rol. Maar waar het om draait is dat het apparaat herhaalwerk aankan. Daar is volgens mij maar 1 goed NL woord voor :-( "batchverwerking".
