In another group of cases, where an agent holds money for his principal, and the principal directs him to pay it to a third party, and the agent notifies the third party that he holds the money for the third party, the agent becomes liable to the third party in restitution, and the principal becomes unable to cancel his instructions: the principal's trustee in bankruptcy is in the same position. Here again it can be said that the authority is irrevocable. But these cases seem really to depend on the idea of attornment of money, the irrevocability being like that of a property disposition: the agent is authorised to participate in such a disposition in favour of a third party, and once he has done so it cannot be recalled

Attornment ist ein Begriff aus dem englischen Lehensrecht, für den mir kein passender, deutscher Rechtsbegriff ein fällt.
Eigentlich ist attornment of money hier falsch gewählt, es wäre korrekter, von attornment of trustee zu sprechen.
Oben eine lösung, mit der der Leser der Übersetzung etwas anfangen kann, ohne daß Du in Klammer ein umfangreiches Kapitel englischer Rechtsgeschichte erzählen mußt.
