Total cost of ownership and minimised life-cycle cost (LCC) criteria are widely used in many private and public procurement bodies.
A distinction is sometimes made between “whole-life costs” (or “total cost of ownership”) and “life cycle cost”, the latter often being a somewhat more narrow concept that does not always include such costs as end of life and waste removal costs.
When you buy a product, service or work, you always pay a price. But the purchase price is just one of the cost elements in the whole process of procuring, owning and disposing. To assess the whole cost of a contract, you need to look at all the different stages. This is known as “life cycle costing” approach.
Normalmente traduco "cost of ownership" con "costi di proprietà" ... ma in questo caso non mi convince soprattutto visto che poi si parla anche di "owning process". Facendo delle ricerche ho visto che a volte si parla anche di "costi di gestione" (che potrebbe essere adeguato al contesto) o "costi di uso" ... avete dei consigli GRAZIE!!

potrebbe anche andare "costo di proprietà" ma è troppo vicino a "costo della proprietà" e potrebbe essere confuso.
