Mam w filmie pokój w domu określany mianem "back room":

Moze po prostu "POKOJ Z TYLU DOMU" ?
Wlasnie porozmawialam z kolega angielskim i przypomnial mi typowe uzycie slow "front room" i "back room" : wtradycyjnym terraced house in Britain front r. to po prostu sitting room/lounge, a back room, z tylu domu, obok kuchni, to wlasnie tradycyjne polozenie dining room.
W siecie znalazlam wylacznie przyklad z "back room" na nastepujacej stronie:

"The front room of most houses is the room where most guests are received, the living room or parlor as it was called in the old days. The front room is where the best furniture is placed. This room is kept clean, neat, and presentable. On the other hand, the back room, like my bedroom, is messy. There are clothes lying across a chair, an odd sock or two lying in the corner next to a pair of shoes. The bed is not always made. A pile of small boxes sit in the corner. Books lay around here and there, unshelved. Outsiders very rarely see the back room"....

myślę, że po prostu tak .... Można użyć całej nazwy raz na samym początku, a potem wystarczy już samo "pokój" - unikniemy stosowania za każdym razem dość długiego określenia.

Asker: Tylko że zaplecze to kojarzy mi się ze sklepem, a tu jest zwykły dom wolnostojący.

agree  Anna Bajor-Ciciliati: Albo krócej - po prostu "zaplecze". W moim odczuciu "zaplecze" ma dość szerokie pole znaczeniowe. Nie ograniczałabym jego zastosowania do sklepu czy instutucji - myślę, że można to słówko stosować do wszelkich pomieszczeń na tyłach budynku, mieszkania itp
