A l'état libre, on en trouve de petites quantités dans le plasma sanguin (4mg/l); à l'état pur, la méthionine se présente comme une poudre cristalline peu soluble dans l'eau et encore moins dans l'alcool. Le dérivé actif de la méthionine, l'adénosylméthionine, cède son radical méthyl au cours de diverses synthèses : choline, créatine, adrénaline. La méthionine est un facteur lipotrope. On l'administre per os et par voie intraveineuse.

As there are no Ghits for the French word and none for methionogenic or methioninogenesis, you might have to turn it around, such as "generates methionine", "methionine is produced".

Or if your text is referring to an enzyme "methionine-synthase enzyme" may be appropriate, and there are plenty of Ghits for that.
