French term or phrase: degré hygrométrique vs humidité relative
I'm translating a glossary at the end of a lengthy presentation about air conditioning and have been merrily calling "degré hygrométrique" relative humidity until coming across a separate entry for "humidité relative"! My scientific dictionaries define them both as relative humidity. Is there a subtle difference between the two that any scientisits out there can explain to me?

These are the French definitions:

Humidité relative
Rapport, exprimé en pourcentage, entre la masse d'eau contenue dans l'air et celle que contiendrait le même volume d'air, dans les mêmes conditions, s'il était saturé d'eau.

Degré hygrométrique
S'exprime en %. Il exprime la quantité d'eau contenue dans l'air à une température donnée par rapport à la quantité maximale que l'air peut contenir à la même température. La zône de confort se situe environ entre 40 et 60 %.

Many thanks!

Explanation:
I've always understood these to be the same thing, the d.h. being probably the native French expression, and r.h. being a calque of the English. Here's just 2 Ghits that explain it this way:

If it's a FR > EN glossary, you give the same translation for both.

If it's and EN > EN glossary, you simple reduce it to one entry

Thanks - a case of not seeing the wood for the trees, I think! I've deleted the second entry as you suggest. This was my first Powerpoint file with Wordfast and I just wasn't thinking straight at the end....

Notes to answerer
Asker: But how do I get round it in a glossary with 2 different (though similar) entries?!

agree  Richard Benham: Well, assuming we are supposed to ignore the possibility of supersaturation (unrealistic in the context), the explanations do indeed say the same thing. I am baffled by FM's "souvent confondu" quote!//Could be?
