German term

Aktie (here)

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) finance
Would equity value be correct here? Is there enough context to be sure?

Proposed translations (English)

share (price)

"...as indicated by the strong increase in the XX share price, which has more than doubled since mid-2003."

The way I read it, it simply refers to the performance of the share price.

stock/shares

Without further context, it's hard to say, but "equities" is much more specific. I think they're just say that the previous 2 factors helped the company so much and this is proved by the quick surge in the stock/share values.
