Eine hohe Fertigungstiefe ist Voraussetzung für zuverlässige Maschinen und anlage. XXX fertigt und montiert daher alle qualitätsrelevanten Bauteile und -gruppen im Unternehmen. Spezifische Produktions- und Montagekompentenzen sind auf die vier Produktionsstätten verteilt.

Gemeint ist wohl, dass die Produkte des Unternehmens einen hohen Anteil an selbstgefertigten Komponenten enthalten.

In the electric industry, it refers to the historically common arrangement whereby a utility would own its own generating plants,transmission system, and distribution lines to provide all aspects of electric service.
