I am translating some individual words with regard to sporting products. One set of words relates to ice skating, where the words are"Schlittschuhe" and "Eiskomplet". What would you suggest using for "Eiskomplet"? What is the distinction between these, if there is one?

Vielleicht frag den Kunden ob Rennschlittschuhe / Schnell(lauf)schlittschuhe oder Kunstlaufschlittschuhe gemeint sind.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: "Thanks to everyone who had a look at this. You put a lot of effort into it! Wish I could divide the points, but in this case they go to Sergei (hope I've spelt that correctly) ;) as the Eiskomplet is the ice skate as a whole, the skate and the boot, and not just the actual ice skate. Jonathan, thanks very much for the link you provided, but I think in that example the translator solved the problem simply by not translating the first German sentence of that paragraph. Therefore, when s/he used "the actual ice skate" they were referring to the Schlittschuh, not the Eiskomplet. But the link was very helpful, thanks."

the actual ice skate
is what the link calls it, but not overly convincing
