"Today Orsago, situated in the Treviso Province, is an important agricultural, artisan and industrial centre. It spans an area of 10.68 squared kilometres and stands 44 metres above sea level.

palude is really the term I know for the above, but perhaps it has something to do with it. A bit more context would always help to properly answer you. One word alone is a bit meager.....
