This would be my attempt.

Of course, depends on what the instrument is, as has been pointed out in the discussion section.
As for gently raving or raving gently, I would leave that up to you, to figure out the most poetic way. I reckon with adverb first, there is a certain focus on how the action is performed rather than the other way round. Also 'between' the strings... I'd leave that up to you.
