Italian to English Other Ships, Sailing, Maritime notes of a solo sailor
This is the daily log of a well-known sailor and owner of a historical sailboat. He often sails solo and has even done a world tour. The tone is quite reflective and philosophical, but so full of nautical terms that I am quite lost. My problem is not so much finding the single term, but to phrase it correctly in the context:

"Mi inchino, beato, grato, di fronte alla meravigliosa Natura del nostro pianetino. Sotto di me la bella barca scivola al gran lasco senza sforzo, ben appoggiata, facendo tra sei e sette nodi. Naviga mure a dritta con il lungo boma fuori quel tanto che, così svergolata, la randa non sfiori le seconde crocette. Tira bene il grande fiocco leggero da lasco tenuto aperto come è dalla scotta supplementare passata alla varea del boma. "
