ある会社の「個人情報取扱い規定」(Policy for Handling of Personal Information)の中の最初に、「この規定は、株式会社XXXXにおける個人情報の適正な取扱いの確保に関する基本的事項を定めるものである。」とあります。
意味的にはStraightforwardで難しくないのですが、このような表現の規定や法律を英語にする場合、一番ふさわしい言い方や最もよく使われる言い方があれば教えてください。
特に、「定めるものである」という表現や「基本的事項」の「事項」にこの場合どの英語を使ったらいいのか迷っています。
よろしくお願いします。

Thank you, Shingetsu-san. Because it is a sentence from some kind of business contract, I thought "shall" should be used, but I suppose your translation is also appropriate.
