Portuguese term

Fora de leme

Portuguese to English Other Ships, Sailing, Maritime
Hi everyone,

In a translation related to vessels.. and a vessel radar service, I have encountered the term "fora de leme".

Any suggestions as to the most appropriate translation?

Thank you in advance.

off kilter

This may not be the appropriate nautical term, however, it means slightly off or a bit askew . . off balance . .

If the text refers to a vessel off course, then "off kilter" might not work as it means: off balance
