Popular Romanian Christmas caril Florile Dalbe Explanation: Hi Simon, That is a popular Romanian Christmas carol entitled : Florile Dalbe. Everyone in Romania would understand that reference as a Christmas Carol. There is no direct English translation. Florile means flowers, dalbe means white. You can translate it literally as 'Pure flowers' or 'white flowers', but I would leave the Romanian term as it is, in italics and add a footnote explaining it is a popular Romanian Christmas Carol. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 horas (2022-11-08 21:07:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I made a typo in the word carol https://dexonline.ro/intrare/dalb/14726 https://www.qdictionar.com/ce-inseamna/florile-dalbe-25371.php |
