Definim activitatile corporale ca activitati cu finalitate proprie (autotelice si autoplastice) raspunzand dorintei omului de a le practica pentru a trai bucuria miscarii, pentru propria dezvoltare fizica, recreare si divertisment, compensare sau ameliorare. (Epuran, 1969, 1973, 1992, 2000, 2005).

Consideram activitatile corporale ca o familie de activitati, fiecare activitate avand functii si obiective proprii, dar asociindu-se, intrepatrunzandu-se si chiar coexistand, ca o expresie a complexitatii fiintei umane si a multiplelor ei motivatii si aspiratii in contextul vietii sociale.

Am preferat termenul de 'corporal' in locul celui de 'fizic', cu care are multe similitudini si care-l poate inlocui, fara a distorsiona semnificatia primului

in cazul in care TREBUIE sa fie diferentiate desi textul pe care l-am citat la referinte arata ca sunt sinonime
ex de utilizare al expresiei
