the text is about the installation of a manifold.
The only context I have is as as follows:
"Eine geeignete Anschlußstelle für den DK-Krümmer ist vorzusehen (für zwei Varianten an DK-Positionen 1 + 2 **flutig** für D4"
Does "flutig" refer to the shape or does it mean it can be positioned anywhere?

n-flutig indicated the number of indepent channels for a medium to flow in. If you see a car with a 350 cui engine and two exhaust pipes on the left and right hand sides of the car, that's 2-flutig. Incidentally, JCCantrell answered this question 4 years ago.

checked with my husband who had a manifold installed and he explained tht this would be the shape that has to fit into the connector piece. hope this helps. All the best
