English to French Medical Medical (general)

Sixteen cancer system policy-makers, funders, clinical leaders and health services researchers, representing Canada, England, France, Germany and the U.S., attended a two-day workshop held in London England on 24-25 June 2007, where the Commission’s four core goals (including (1) providing safe and high quality care, (2) providing accessible and equitable care, (3) providing efficient, high value care, and (4) creating the system infrastructure, capacity and culture to allow ongoing improvement1) were discussed.
Each country described promising performance improvement policies and PRACTICES for cancer services, which were then compared and contrasted.

The parallel efforts of assessing performance and guiding future PRACTICE in each of the five countries reveal fundamental elements of performance knowledge, including the development of performance measures/indicators, the need for quality data sources and mechanisms for reporting on performance2.

The development of performance measures or indicators parallels the development of clinical PRACTICE guidelines and health technology assessment, drawing on a similar base of expertise for distinct but complementary purposes.
