These are comments made by a manager who went through some tough economic times when establishing a business in Brazil. Is "Jahre doppelt zählen" an idiom?
Sie werden mit der Zeit abgebrüht. Sie müssen sich natürlich entsprechende Instrumente zulegen. Und Sie brauchen vor allen Dingen unheimlich verlässliche Mitarbeiter.
Mir hat die Arbeit Spaß gemacht. Ich habe sie mit Freude getan. Und deshalb würde ich nicht sagen, dass die Jahre doppelt zählen. Was doppelt zählt, das ist die Erfahrung, die man dabei gewinnt. Andere Kulturen, andere Menschen, andere Einstellungen. Und das prägt, ja.

Im Alter, sagt der Volksmund, zählt jedes Jahr doppelt.
