neutral  Kelhara Translations: Although it is correct, the term is specific to the US and could lead to confusion in other areas of the world. If it's only for US use, it is perfect. I suppose it's always safer to stick to a general term, so I'd go with "dairy region".

agree  Chris Ellison: This is definitely the neatest and most professional sounding answer. Could be "milk producing" to split hairs ;) Also "milk" more typical in this context: dairy farmer, milk production.
