KADO
The word Kado as written in Gujarati as કડો, has a different as is provided by the Saarth Gujarati Jodani Kosh published by Gujarat University is as follows - (1) Kado (Musculine) is a type of medicinal plant called Indrajav. In Marathi language it is written as KADA - कडा. (2)It also means, mat or wall of a hut made of thin bamboo sticks or canes. (3) This is also a variety or rice. (4) It also means, thick stone-like layer forming at the bottom of a ship.
The other derivative of the original word under question "KADO" is Kadun - કડું, which means an ornamental ring adorned on wrist, but that also means, handcuff or manacle.
Thus, to provide meaning of KADO as ate/consumed is incorrect.

We both know, how differently all the words that you have mentioned, are used and have distinct different meanings. Vimal, I'm sad you're offended. I disagreed with Mr. Ismail & not with the meaning you wrote initially. Goldenstat had asked "KADO - absolutely no idea what this means". I thought it prudent to limit myself to just that word. Hope this clears my stand.

: I disagree to a few derivatives of the word "KADO", e.g. Khadhu, khadho, also Kadai, Kadiyo, Kadho & kadhvu, which are irrelevant to the original word. However, Kado menas a medicinal plant. For other meanings refer to my separate explanation.

Had I not been aware of distinctive meanings between KADO and KHADHU or KADAI or KADIYO, etc it did not have to be explicitely spelled out here. Check fore more details above.

Discussion
KADA is also a word in GUJARATI just like KADO. I know, I'm least concerned whether it's there in Marathi (as you spelled out) but it's a definite Gujarati word.
