en un informe interno sobre un material plástico utilizado en diversos sectores, se dice:

In addition to the gradual erosion of packaging applications due to “specification-slide” in the market for high performance packaging of consumer goods, an increasingly miserable global economic outlook is set to further reduce volumes.

Me crea dudas la expresión "specification-slide", ¿se refiere a una creciente desregulación tal vez?
