Nutzeneinschätzung

German to English Art/Literary Philosophy
From an essay about Pragmatism - I can't think of a natural-sounding way to express this!

TIA!

"Sofern alle die gleichen Informationen vorliegen haben und die gleiche Nutzenzielsetzung bzw. –einschätzung haben, müssten alle zu der gleichen Truthsdefinition kommen"

TIA!
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Harald Moelzer (medical-translator)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

assessment of the benefits

Declined
Ziel einer Strategie des nicht preisbasierten Wettbewerbs muss es demnach insbesondere sein, die Risiken der Transaktion für den Kunden zu minimieren und die Nutzeneinschätzung des Kunden vor dem Kauf zu verbessern.

The objective of non-price competition would thus be to reduce the project risks for the customer and to allow for a more accurate assessment of the benefits prior to conclusion of the contract.

Because I can't find one? "Just a shot in the dark" is vastly exaggerated.

benefit analysis

Declined
I am no philosopher either, just an MD, but I think "analysis" somehow almost always fits. :)
Peer comment(s):

agree Bruce Sanchez : I like this. I am a philosopher and although "benefit analysis" is not a technical philosophical term it seems the most natural to me

purpose

Declined
As long as...and they have a common purpose (implied is to use the information available, but I think it need not be explicity explained), they should be deriving a common definition of truth.

utilitarian evaluation

Declined
Please google for:
"pragmatism" + "utilitarian evaluation" + "truth"
Peer comment(s):

agree gangels (X) : definitely 'utilitarian', but 'projection'

Thank you, gangels. However, I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to choose between 'evaluation' and 'projection' though
