Spanish term or phrase: desplazamiento de la oferta local por la foránea
La situación en el mercado de trabajo también repercute por vías indirectas en las políticas migratorias, ya que altos niveles de desempleo y los supuestos efectos de desplazamiento de la oferta local por la foránea tienden a desencadenar discursos e iniciativas destinadas a frenar la inmigración a través de políticas más restrictivas e implementadas tanto por medidas de control externo como otras de control interno

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  Richard Boulter: Right. This sounds very colloquial in English and includes all of the semantic factors, except that it says 'the alleged effects of ...'
1 hr
-> Thank you, Richard. I included "effect of" in brackets to show that "moving" works as noun depending on "of".

neutral  Muriel Vasconcellos: Doesn't "oferta" mean 'supply'?
3 hrs
-> Thank you, Muriel. Out of context you are right, but I think "oferta de trabajo" = supply of jobs, demand for labour/workers, NOT demand for jobs. The way I put it, "labour" = mano de obra, NOT trabajo.
