Other options To give you a "real" example from the company Mars - they ave a "General Counsel" for Europe (-> http://www.linkedin.com/pub/anne-marie-poliquin/7/519/641 - I knew that before and just searched for a suitable URL) - so "Counsel" would also be an alternative.

Thank you, Phong, for the clarification. I thought that you were talking about your real life here. :-)

Hi, Phong Le: "Director and Legal Counsel" implies that you have other responsibilities (as one of the company's directors), in addition to being the chief Legal Counsel.

Director - Legal Advisor

I would go for Director - Legal Advisor. This sounds more natural than Inhouse lawyer.

By the way, excuse me for saying so, but would this be considered a KudoZ question?
Note from asker:
Thanks. I explained the question like that, to translate a project, not my rela life.

agree Suzan Hamer : I think a slash (/) should be used, or perhaps even better an ampersand (&). The comma could make it appear that he is (even though it makes no sense and people should know the difference between "counsel" and "council") the director of something cal

Director - Company Lawyer

As he is a Lawyer his legal boundaries may be limited to one aspect of law, ie; Business law, so there may be a lot of fields of law where he is not proficient in, therefore he could not call himself a legal adviser, as by the looks of it they also use other law firms outside of the company. A lawyer does not have the same qualifications as a legal council, who may cover a greater aspect of law, criminal, Business, litigation etc. Generally a company lawyer just oversees contracts and general in house matters and then they engage legal council for more difficult matters.
To me he is just a Company Lawyer
