I do this as one who accepts that the term 'Supreme Court' is gaining acceptance as an equivalent for Yargıtay, but nevertheless remains a supporter of the the term "Court of Cassation" on the grounds that this Turkish court was closely modelled on the supreme courts of certain Western European civil-law jurisdictions where it is known by the latter name.
