superimpose or superpose

The phrase seems to mean that the first and second high frequency electric fields are superimposed on something (or on one another?).

combine (for electric fields)

Not my field, but I will give it a shot.

su·per·im·pose 1. To lay or place (something) on or over something else.

The use of superimpose is fine when saying, " A is superimposed over B."
However, since the sentence alone is not giving us any sort of order or sequence AFAIK, I feel it is natural to say that the fields are combined.

"The aforementioned plasma discharge combines high frequency electric field number 1 and high frequency electric field number 2." ...かな~?w
