Każdy zamek krzyżacki (a Malbork w szczególności) był gniazdem krzyżackim, choć kolebka Zakonu była gdzieś w Ziemi Świętej. Podobnie 'piastowskie gniazdo' to każdy z licznych zamków będącyh niegdyś siedzibą którejś z odnóg dynastii Piastów
