Medical Assistant? Nurses' Aide? Technical Health Aide? The term I'm translating is in the name of a school: "Escuela de Aydantes Técnicos Sanitarios" and also the job title. I have included the section below because is actually had some context. This is from Spain


Las funciones a desarrollar por las Enfermeras y Ayudantes Técnicos Sanitarios en las Instituciones cerradas serán:


1.- Ejercer las funciones de auxiliar del médico, cumplimentando las instrucciones que por escrito o verbalmente reciban de aquél.

2.- Cumplimentar la terapéutica prescrita por los facultativos encargados de la asistencia, así como aplicar la medicación correspondiente.

3.- Auxiliar al personal médico en las intervenciones quirúrgicas, practicar las curas de los operados y prestar los servicios de asistencia inmediata en los casos de urgencia hasta la llegada del Médico.

4.- Observar y recoger los datos clínicos necesarios para la correcta vigilancia de los pacientes.

neutral  Simon Bruni: not so sure, nursing auxiliaries are care assistants (http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/details/Default.aspx?Id=485), who are not qualified to administer drugs etc.
