Hola a todos,

El término "narcotics log" aparece dos veces en una evaluación de calidad en un hospital español, bajo el epígrafe "Medication Management and Use". Me gustaría saber qué nombre recibe este registro/ficha en el ámbito hospitalario español.

Ejemplos de uso:

"A fentanyl vial was missing in the narcotics log due to the fact that it had been used two weeks earlier and had not been recorded."

"In the operating theatre, there were three fentanyl vials in excess which had not been counted in the narcotics log."

Os digo algo Hola. Lo primero, muchísimas gracias por todas las aportaciones al tema. Al repasar la lista de evaluadores/as, acabo de caer en la cuenta de que conozco a una de ellas. Voy a ver si está localizable, a ver si me puede sacer de dudas y os digo algo. :O)

Hi Andy. True, but would you call that a log? I wasn't aware that log was used that way, but then again, it might not be, as I think the evaluator who wrote the report isn't a native English speaker. From what I gather, it's a record that has to be kept on specific types of pharmaceuticals.

hola moken, también existe un registro de analgesia, registro de analgesia/sedación, etc., registro de fármacos, registro de medicamentos, las posibilidades son muchas...
El fentanilo es usado tanto en analgesia como en anestesia...

Hola Maryan. Error mío - en el primer ejemplo, me faltó mencionar que la diferencia se había producido en la planta de traumatología. ¿El registro anestésico es exclusivo del quirófano o se llevaría también en una planta de hospitalización?

registro (libro o cuaderno...) de analgésicos

Entiendo que es similar al "drug accountability log" pero en este caso se ve que se utiliza para registrar de manera específica los analgésicos narcóticos que se administran a los pacientes.

Hola Fer. Muchas gracias por tu aporte. El caso es que en una de las instancias, el fentanilo se habría usado como analgésico (planta de traumatología) y en el otro como anestésico (quirófano). Voy a ver si la evaluadora está localizable para consultarlo con ella y os digo algo. :O)

Hi Liz, and thanks again for your interest. I'm not 'avoiding' it per se - I actually know that I could 'get away with it'. I'm just trying to find out whether there's a commonly used term for this log in the Spanish hospital setting. From what I gather, there are certain medications that are legally required to be strictly controlled - narcotics obviously, but I believe there are others too. To this end, every medical department has to keep a close record of any medication of this kind that they use and, as Andy put it, an inventory of the quantity of each of these medications in each dept. or unit. I've already put this to the client (extremely nice people) and they've told me to send it in as is and that they'll get back to me if the other evaluator can put her finger on the precise term, so no more work needed on this for now. I do promise to get back to you with some feedback - it's the very least I could do after all the trouble and effort I've put you through! :O) :O)

Narcotics are a very specific type of drug, a definition of which is covered in the merriam-webster dictionary.

When used medically they are mainly used for the relief of pain in terminal cancer, (morphine and opium/opiates)
