Exoglycosidases are enzymes which cleave terminal glycosidic bonds from the non-reducing end of glycans. They are typically highly specific to particular monosaccharide linkages and anomericity (α/β). Neighboring branching patterns can affect exoglycosidase specificity. Exoglycosidase treatment usually results in glycans of standard **antennary linkages** being cleaved down to the pentasaccharide core (M3N2) containing 3 mannose and 2 GlcNAc residues.
