"Als Technologieschub (englisch: Technology Push) wird eine technologische Entwicklung bezeichnet, die, unabhängig von am Markt identifizierten Kundenbedürfnissen, auf Basis des unternehmensinternen Technologie- und Leistungspotenzials realisiert und am Markt eingeführt wird. Das Ergebnis einer Technology-Push-Strategie sind häufig radikale Innovationen mit hohem Ertragspotenzial, deren Realisierung sowohl mit hohem Zeitaufwand als auch erheblichen Risiken verbunden ist. So steht besonders bei radikalen Innovationen der Gefahr keinen Markt zu finden, die Chance gegenüber durch neue Technologien neue Märkte zu schaffen."[1]
