Thank you to the doctors for their corrections. I am sorry, I went on the wrong track because of the words 'corne' and 'liquidienne', and knowing that menisci and also synovial fluid leaks can be associated with knee injuries.

Another doctor's opinion. I agree with the "Doctor's explanation" completely. The selected answer is wrong on all counts. Incidentally, the intra-articular liquid mentioned is likely blood from the injury, not synovial fluid.

Too much of a coincidence It seems a bit too much of a coincidence that there are structures in the knee called "horns" and yet the word is describing fluid shapes. I think of "horn" as pointed and "crescent" as rounded in shape.

Doctor's explanation Sharing this for future ref.
"This has nothing to do with the horn of the meniscus but
describes the shape of the intra-articular fluid collection
(effusion). So you could call it a "horn-shaped" or - my
preference - "crescent-shaped intra-articular fluid
collection".
