Persian (Farsi) term

کف زنی

Persian (Farsi) to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Colloquial Dialogue
Greetings,

Apologies for the unsatisfactory context – I'm afraid this is all I have:
“The only word that I think is کف زنی /kaf zani/. It means that someone deceives you (usually by faking an event or character) and then takes or steals your money.”

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

To my knowledge کف زنی is not used in the sense you've given. The Persian may use قاپ زنی- جیب زنی- کیف زنی- جیب بری- and other things of that ilk.

clap/ pickpocket

These are completely different. کف زنی means clapping, while کیف زنی means to pickpocket.
