ровное, благожелательное отношение

"...постараться расположить их к себе, в том числе ровное, благожелательное отношение:..."
This is from advice given to diplomats involved in negotiations.
My draft translation is "...equal, well-disposed dealings...", but I'm not enamored of it.
This is somewhat of an English-English question (seeking optimal wording), but requiring the original Russian.

an even-tempered and amicable attitude
It might end up being more efficient, not to mention graceful, if you dropped "отношение" in favor of a formulation such as "an even temper and amicability."
Even more of a transformation might be "the attitude of an even-tempered well-wisher," unless you think that's too many hyphenated words in one sentence. The thing is that "well-wisher" doesn't take a convenient adjectival form.

equable, amiable attitude
"Ровный" here does not mean "even-handed" or "fair" but rather "not affected", "calm". "Благожелательный" should not imply actual friendliness (a kind of special relationship) between the negotiating entities. It describes the desirable disposition of the negotiator.
